Scratch 3.0 Is Here

Scratch 3.0 is here! Over the last 12 plus years, Scratch has had an immense impact on kids and adults alike, sparking interest in computer science and making programming accessible to millions. Developed at the MIT Media Lab, Scratch is a free, block-based visual programming language that lets anyone create interactive stories, games, and animations.
Version 3.0 brought a complete redesign, including a new interface built on HTML5 (replacing the old Flash-based editor), support for tablets, new extensions for hardware like micro:bit and LEGO, and new sound and painting editors. The move to HTML5 was significant — it meant Scratch could finally run in any modern browser without plugins.
I first taught kids to program using Scratch back in 2009 at CoderDojo, and it remains one of the best tools for introducing young learners to computational thinking.
